Soca Rel Manto Negro

I was hooked on first meeting winemaker Pep Rodriguez and tasting the wines of Soca Rel (which literally tranlates to "through and through local" which seemed appropriate to Vino Tap). Pep concentrates on local Mallorcan grape varieties and works in a low intervention style and on a tiny scale.

The Manto Negro (grape) is traditional grape variety which produces an elegant, perfumed, red-berry scented wine with a slightly hazy appearance. We first poured this by accident at a tasting, but turned out as the "wine of the night"!
