Marzano Collezione 50 Cinquanta

San Marzano - on of the oldest and most respected Cantines in the South of Italy - have become a bit of household name in Highams Park since 2017. Sometimes in the shadow of the “62 Anniversario”, the Cinquanta is probably my favourite (Matt).

Working with many small growers, the Cinquanta was first released as a celebration of 50 years, as a blend of three different vintages. The blend is 50% Primitivo and 50% Negroamaro, from old vines in the Salento region of Puglia.

A generous, fleshy wine with dark berried fruit layered with chocolate and hints of spice. Smooth with great purity of fruit through to a long, long finish, always leaves an impression.
