Charles and Petronella Humphreys took over Hazel End Farm in Bishop’s Stortford in 1974 and first planted vines in 1990-93. The 2015 vintage has been aged for five years prior to disgorgement (when the wine is finished off) which gives the wine and amazing complexity and richness: lime and green apple sherbet, mouth-filling, savoury, brioche and creaminess on the palate. Up there with some of the very best we’ve tried.
